NLP® in Coating

NLP® is mainly applied as a transparent top coat. In general the bigger the particle size the brighter the luminescent effect. Several applications have been successfully field tested. Applied with the right additives such as aerosol (Degussa) NLP behaves stable and reliable in several water based and syntactic coatings. Alternatively, applications can be achieved in a high viscosity resins. Finally, NLP can be used in paste form as an additive to coatings dispersed on the construction/building site.

The usage of the NLP® pigment is comparable with a heavy weight pigment and requires proper preparation. With proper care the results can be very impressive. A powder coating application recently yielded visibility greater than 300 meters with a high reflective light underground and a top transparent luminescent layer.
